Peggy's First Halloween

 Dear Diary,

I can hardly contain my excitement - it's my very first Halloween! As a little puppy, this holiday seems both thrilling and mysterious. I've seen the humans of the neighbourhood put up spooky decorations, and now it's finally my turn to experience this enchanting event.

My mummy have been talking about Halloween for weeks, planning our costumes and how we will celebrate. Although I don't entirely understand the concept of costumes, I can't wait to join in the fun. I've heard whispers of princesses, superheroes, and even spooky creatures, and it all sounds fascinating.

Mummy tried to make me a ghost costume out of an old sheet and put me on the doorstep but I wasn't rather confused and didn't like it.

She then got me a bat headband which I thought I looked bat-tastic when wearing it!  I must admit, when I first tried it on, I was a bit confused, wagging my tail vigorously while trying to understand why my mummy was laughing so much. But hey, if it makes her happy, I'm all in!

As the sun sets and darkness creeps in, the neighbourhood transforms into a thrilling wonderland. The streets are filled with colourful lights, creepy sound effects, and the smell of yummy treats fills the air. My senses are on high alert, and my furry tail can't stop wagging.

Trick-or-treaters start knocking on our door, and my mummy would turns give out candy. I curiously peek through the crack, trying to understand what all the fuss is about. The kids are dressed in various costumes, some ghoulish and others so cute I could lick their faces! I wag my tail playfully, hoping to catch their attention and get some extra treats.

After the trick-or-treating commotion dies down, my mummy let me join them outside for a spooky walk around the neighbourhood. The streets are alive with laughter, chatter, and the sound of leaves crunching under our paws.

I can't help but be overwhelmed with joy - I'm a part of this magical celebration! Every house we pass is filled with decorations, cobwebs, and glowing pumpkins. Some even have giant inflatable monsters that try to scare me, but I'm too busy wagging my tail to be frightened.

As the night goes on, my paws become tired, but I don't want the Halloween fun to end. I've had the best time exploring the spooky atmosphere, meeting new friends (both human and canine), and indulging in the occasional treat that my mummy would sneak to me.

As we return home, I plop down on my cosy bed, exhausted but content. This Halloween has been an incredible adventure, and I can't wait for next year's celebration. Until then, I'll dream of pumpkins, treats, and howling at the moon on this special night.

Goodnight, Diary, and happy Halloween!

With love,

Peggy x

Did you know my mummy does Photography?

Last week on a wet and cloudy day she took me to a local field where there was lots of wildflowers and sunflowers. Turns out being small makes it harder to see these pretty flowers.

Don't think I did too bad considering I was off lead, in a new place and it was my first proper photoshoot outside the home or garden.

Does the above remind you of someone? My auntie says I look like Dobby from Harry Potter :)

She's a Family & Pet Photographer based in Kent.
